Stitchcraft Hot Rod & Trim

Automotive trim · Bench-built

Trimmer fitting a diamond-stitched leather bench seat into a hot rod

Interiors stitched one car at a time

The inside should be the best part.

Seats, door cards, headliners and carpets for hot rods, customs and pre-war saloons. One car on the bench at a time, patterns taken off your own shell, no kit panels.

Materials

Every hide is chosen in the room, in daylight.

Full-grain hide

Vegetable-tanned, drum-dyed. Ages into the car rather than cracking off it.

Wool broadcloth

Period-correct for pre-war saloons, woven to the original weight.

Marine vinyl

For roadsters that live outdoors. Same stitch, far less worry.

Square-weave carpet

Bound and fitted to a paper pattern taken off your own floor pan.

Horsehair & foam

Traditional pads under the seat, modern foam where nobody sees it.

Brass hardware

Grommets, tacks and trim rings, aged to match the car's brightwork.

Before and after

A 1934 coupé, from tired to trimmed.

Before

On the real site this is the shop's own strip-out photograph of the same car. We do not fill a before-and-after with an unrelated picture.

Before — original interior, as it arrived
Finished cream leather hot rod cabin with polished dashboard
After — cream hide, diamond bench, bound carpets
Leather, wool and vinyl swatches fanned across a workbench
Materials laid out for a client selection
Industrial sewing machine stitching a leather panel
A sample seam stitched before any cutting begins
Finished cream leather hot rod cabin with polished dash
A finished cabin, photographed on handover day

How it goes

Four stages, roughly six weeks on the bench.

  1. 01

    Consultation

You bring the car in, or send photographs. We talk through use, budget and the look you are after.

  2. 02

    Pattern & sample

We take the pattern off your car and stitch a sample panel in the chosen hide before anything is cut.

  3. 03

    Trim

Seats, door cards, headliner, carpets and boot, fitted in one continuous booking.

  4. 04

    Handover

Photographed in daylight, with an aftercare kit and the offcuts, so future repairs match.

Consultation

Tell us about the car.

Full interiors start at $6,400 and are quoted in writing after we have seen the shell. Single seats, headliners and carpet sets are quoted on their own.
